    That’s the thing, I really don’t know if I am doing ANYTHING properly! I’ve never used After Effects before.

    I need someone to explain how I go about importing 1440×1080 hi-def AVI into AE6.5, and having the pixel ratio correct in the preview, and also how to render the footage back out of AE6.5 for use in Sony Vegas.

    Ok,

    I’ve placed an image of my Comp window at this link;

    …as you can see, there are no switches along the bottom, which was why I was asking you to identify where it is?

    Thanks,

    Ron

    Hi,

    someone did mention this switch before, but where is it? Nothing you hover over has “pop-up” text, explaining what it is. What does this switch look like?

    Thanks,

    Ron

    Hi,

    I’m still having trouble with this one, I’m afraid, so I’ll explain exactly what I’m trying to do…

    I have filmed an actor against greenscreen, using my Sony Handycam HDR SR5. recording in 1440×1080 Hi-Def, and in X.V. Colour. I’m editing the film with Sony Vegas, which has a below-par keying facility, so what I need to do is reapply the greenscreen with a flatter, more even green.

    So, as the Sony camera records files in the AVCHD format, I use Vegas to re-render the video as AVI, so that I can work with the footage in After Effects. But, when I load up the footage in After Effects, the image is squashed vertically. I want the 16:9 ratio to remain intact, how do I do that?

    I also want to key away the greenscreen, and rerender the footage with a flatter green underneath, so that Vegas can key is more easily.

    Can anyone help me out? I’ve never used After Effects before, so please dumb it right down for me!

    Thanks

    Ron
