The fellow from Sony wrote me back and gave me this URL for the Mavericks-friendly sxs driver.

The page specifically states that it is good for OS 10.8, but I downloaded it in my Mavericks MBP and it seems to work fine.

This morning I’ve been talking to a guy at Sony who is trying to get to the bottom of this. Sounds like they’re on the verge of making it work. When I get a link to the new driver (if he can find it) I’ll post it.

As I understand it, the card readers are much slower because they plug into the USB port. My MBP doesn’t have USB3.

Did you ever figure out what caused this? I’m having exactly the same problem, and I just successfully did this a couple days ago and didn’t change the setup, at least as far as I know. I’m also trying to get a tape to a station.
