    That’s what I did not do. drag the filter to the clip in the time line.
    I just assumed that if I selected the clip in the time line it would effect that clip.
    More reading to do I guess..

    That is the first thing I did. maybe I need to open the plugin and then select the clip in the time line?
    I think I just need to go back and read the manual some more.

    When I follow the directions to install the plugins the path is different when I try on my machine. I can not find final cut system support>plugins. Also how do I unzip the files on a Mac?
    I am on a newer Imac.
    Here are his directions.

    Once downloaded the plug-ins need to be unzipped and put in the plug-ins folder (Library>Application Support>Final Cut Pro System Support>Plugins).

    These plug-ins will appear with the Color Correction filters.

    Just wanted to let you guys know it worked.
    I set in and out points and used capture clip instead of capture now and it is working.
