I agree with you about misunderstanding of the Rec 709 profile somewhere.
By the way, does somebody know what are the actual differences between the following profile variants?
Rec.709 gamma 2.4
HDTV (rec.709) –> this one seems to be actually an exact copy of sRGB IEC61966-2.1 but with a “709” name
Rec. ITU-R BT.709-5The 3 above are ordered from the darkest to the lightest. Seems to me the gamma is different.
Maybe respectively : 2.4 ; 2.2 & I don’t know what.Then there are those 2 that seem “special”
HD-709-A : don’t know what this one is for
HDTV (rec.709) 16-235 : typically, this one pinned to broadcast values is useless most of the time since it’s done by the encoder. -
Hey Nicholas,
I have the same kind of problem as you but with another workflow.
It’s described in this post.
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/1126807Maybe you will think of something I didn’t think when you read it …
I am still puzzled too by our respective issues :-/Please let us know if you solve it !
Cheers

July 10, 2017 at 10:37 pm in reply to: simplify the browser filter results to favorites lines only ?Thank you Jeremy for the suggestion.
Like you said, in the end I indeed use the “all clips” view while twirling open the disclosure triangles to read the transcripts that way since it uses less lines this way. It’s weird that for this special use case, the favorites filter is so counter-productive but still …On the other hand, I also like your suggestion to write the transpcripts in the notes instead of the favorite’s name so that you can then also favorite your favorites parts of the transcript.
But what you still cannot do is to filter to ONLY lines having a certain keyword, or favorites … losing sometimes precious real estate to a very high degree. That’s unfortunate.

Moreover, I have another issue with the End Offset parameter of the Sequence Text behavior.
When you change it, the build out duration is shortened, BUT still starts from the build out marker, therefore ending before the end of the project’s timeline. This is not what is usually expected, which is the duration should be shorter but always end at the last frame (i.e. meaning anchoring the right and shortening from the left). The Ramp behavior does that as expected. Not Sequence Text …. unless I am missing something.
Any idea ? Thanks

That’s borderline wily for the pure sake of color grading … but I understand it gets the job done ????
I would like to avoid that as much as possible though. -

But actually beam is a generator. It generates a beam entirely from scratch. It is not enhancing the already existing highlights in the image.
Using beam (or better: video copilot’s saber) I need to mask & track to get behind her.
I want a quicker solution by not having to do that and generate streaks from already existing highlights.

I like the idea of distracting using a flare though … maybe I should try that even though I suspect it won’t work since the shot is not moving so it will obviously look fake if a flare appears and disappears when the dust spot is the most noticeable.

Yes it is the only shot where this happens, and it’s pretty darn obvious and annoying … but since it is the final shot of the video, it is very important to have in clean … :-/
Don’t know much about fusion and mocha though … so I think I am left with only the nuclear option of photoshop. 160 frames, 1 to 2 minutes per frame … that’s something like between 3 to 6 hours … yeah. Job is fun sometimes 😛
