Hey, thanx for the quick response. I think I got ahead of myself. This is what I was eventually looking for, for another project, but i’m stuck on the first part, specifcally shape layer 1. What I was trying to ask is how do you get the white elipse to attach to the dotted circle path that you created for it to revolve on? I also noticed the expression loopOut(type=”cycle”), which would have been my next question. I see that the position of the shape layer is keyframed but i’m totally lost how to achieve this. Did you create the dotted circle with the pen tool? If so is it possible to create a circle with the shape tool and convert it? Thanx in advance.

I now this post is almost a year older than the previous ones. But I just purchases a new mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000. Was having the same problem in AE with zooming. Here is the solution. I’m assuming the software hasn’t changed much just driver updates. Get the lastest software update for from microsoft. In the mouse properties panel under the “Wheel” tab click the blue underline link that says “Identify programs that don’t scroll correctly” then click the “add” button. find AE CS4 or whatever program. Click apply then click OK. This feature was designed for programs that do not support “Smooth Scrolling”. You don’t even have to reboot or restart AE, worked just fine after changing this mouse setting.
