We kinda have a bad taste regarding this one as we heard from users following NAB 2010 who had placed orders and months later had still not received their unit nor had the company ever responded. We do not encourage traffic in our network for companies that work that way.
That is our opinion. Things might have changed but as of today, we do not feel comfortable adding them.

As most of our audience is working at higher resolutions and prefer the larger sizes, that is why we went to them.
If you prefer smaller sizes, then the SD podcast versions of the tutorials will give you smaller views and the convenience of home delivery to your system.

Tim and I got a good laugh out of a business that sells subscription training services that issued a press release that was almost a clone of some of the press releases we had issued earlier. Did we get pissed because they stole their idea from us? No, we congratulated them for finally recognizing a good idea.
This reminds me of when people were complaining because Google tracks them and their posts are public. I scratched my head at that one, because I think it’s pretty obvious that the internet is public and that there are companies worth many many billions of dollars whose sole raison d’etre is to take what you say and make it public.
Don’t want your words and ideas stolen? Never make them public. Get off the internet, don’t make pitches except to those to whom you can make them only after they sign a non-disclosure agreement. (Though that will likely insure that you’ll make almost no pitches.)
As it’s been said here many times: you cannot protect an idea. If you could, neither Apple nor Microsoft would exist today.
But at least Sears is telling people what’s up. I have to give them that much. It’s more honest than a lot of companies that I’ve seen.

Probably because they don’t work the way your forums do and so what you are expecting to happen, doesn’t. I would more than likely say the same thing about your forums were I to try to use them.

It is a really old page that is found in our ABOUT US section that you can visit here. We are in the midst of a major recode of our entire system and will have the new site live shortly.

When you get a million-and-a-half users interacting each month, there are bound to be too many threads and posts to manage. That is the reason for the major redesign of everything that drives the COW. It isn’t just an interface redesign we are working on, it is a revolutionary new kind of forum system specifically developed to serve the needs of a major site that gets so much traffic, and aggregates data more quickly and succinctly for those who are looking for specific topics.
How do you now add forums to your favorites list? There are pulldowns in your user account profile that you can assign and add as many as you want. Look in your user settings.

There are two ways to do this: one, is in your user profile and allows you to get them universally for anything you post; the other is if you do not want to be notified every time you post, then you can set the notices in the reply/post box found in any of our forums. There, you can set it for that post uniquely, if you wish.

If we gave everything that is in this site as an RSS feed, there would be no need to have this site as we couldn’t afford to run it and we could just pull the plug and all go home. We have no plans to give it all away. Sorry.

Just click on your name. It will take you to your profile page. There is only as many posts as you have made that will be found there. If it’s one post, that is what will be there — one post.

We built this system for our friends and have grown the functionality over the last 15 years. Yes, we know it’s tired and we believe that in 3 to 5 years, probably only about 25% of our traffic will be web-based, the vast majority will come from hand-held devices. To that end, we are developing a far more robust and innovative forums architecture that is unlike anything we have ever seen on the net. It’s been a major undertaking to prepare millions of posts and hundreds and hundreds of systems with thousands of scripts to get it all ready to pour it all into a new wrapper interface. But that’s what we have been up to.

Yes, Max, Bessie is 100% grass fed. No corn syrup or corn feed for her. “Makes a girl’s hind quarters much too big,” says Bessie, ruminating on the idea of switching from grass to corn feeds.
But to answer your subject line, are cows creative? Amazingly so. Want proof?
Cows eat pretty much nothing but water and mostly grass — one of the least nutritious foods on the planet — and yet they produce milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, and a bunch of other super protein-rich foods. Now *that’s* creativity.
“And we’re good at it too,” says a smiling Bessie. “But we recommend chicken and fish for those who prefer their protein in (shall we say?) a more fleshy container. Yeah, chicken and fish — maybe pork, the Other White Meat® All are highly recommended.”
So, there you have at least some of the story in a nutshell.
Want the truth about the name? We had it before we figured out that it could be used as an acronym for “Communities of the World.” Truth. I grew up on a dairy and loved being raised with cows. I still miss the dairy and the wonderful life growing up with dairy animals. When I met Kathlyn (who originally founded Creative COW and ran it for the first few years until it began growing too big for her to want to deal with it anymore), she had a house full of cow collectibles. Pillows, ceramics, knick-knacks, cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, etc., and I knew right there she was the girl for me. ;o)
So, when we lost a previous company we had started and needed to come up with a name, we landed on Creative COW. The idea of communities of the world came a week or two later, after we had already started building the site.
“I don’t need any props to stand me up,” says a four-legged Bessie.
And you know, she’s right. But hey, every company has to have a schtick or any angle, don’t they? So we pretend that the name has something to do with Communities of the World. But Max, you know the truth. Don’t tell anybody, okay?

The reason that “crack” is in the filter, Bob, is that we do not support software piracy and many people refer to pirated software as cracked versions. Or ask “where can I get the crack?”
So we block it.
Unfortunately, our mechanism does not yet recognize usage, such as “Is your boss on crack?” But we are working on it.
