No, Final Cut Pro does not run under Microsoft Vista. FCP is a Mac-only program.

There is a Peachpit book called “The Little Digital Video Book” by Michael Rubin that covers all the basics and fundamentals of digital video.
It would make a great primer for video newbyphiles.

Prores is an Apple-only codec and does not work on WinXP.
Also, on the Mac, it only works on machines that each have their own Final Cut Studio license on them.
Look towards SheerVideo codecs for similar functionality that will work cross-platform. (But Sheer is not a free codec, you must buy it.)

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to speak at this event, which is sad for me as I really wanted to. My son and grandson were just killed and things are very crazy here right now. Unfortunately, one of the side effects of this is that Kathlyn and I are now having to hold things together for our daughter-in-law and surviving granddaughter, the other surviving members of the family and others who are really having a horrible time with this.

I only post this as this is really an embarrassment to me and I wish they would have pulled my name down and done me the courtesy, rather than leaving it up and making me look like a flake. I don’t appreciate it one bit.
I hope their show is more organized than their ability to update their website.
The discourtesy of this is truly embarrassing and I am not happy to think that some people will show up to hear that “Lindeboom is a no-show.”
Thanks, Todd. This really is quite a disservice to both your attendees and to me personally. I’d think with nearly 7 weeks notice you could have removed my name.

We censor almost nothing except for telling people to f***-off or to try to sell them viagra or cialis, I can’t imagine this as being an issue to people. Except for those wanting to tell someone to f***-off and buy cialis.
Our visitors aren’t missing anything of value as far as we can tell.

Hi Tom,
Yes, the volumes contain the podcast episodes BUT on the DVD they are both full-sized and also contain the project files.
There are also bonus episodes that are not found in the podcast. (If memory serves me well, both volumes each contain over an hour of bonus material not found in the podcast.)
Plus, all the episodes are packaged in a convenient take-anywhere package. ;o)
Wait, we use the same line for the podcast, don’t we? Never mind.
