Sorry but this is a feature that has yet to be added to Vegas 🙁
If I’m working with a lot of text (for example, doing subtitles), I’ll create the original in MS Word which has this feature and then copy/paste it into Vegas.

Just a word of caution about spell-checkers in general – they’re not fool-proof, and really don’t catch some of the more common spelling mistakes (like “their” where “they’re” is required and vice versa, or “it’s” vs. “its”). Grammar checkers will highlight some of these types of errors, but once again, not all.
Here’s a poem I was sent many years ago. It still spell-checks perfectly today (although US spellings will pick up “chequer”). I have no idea who wrote it, so cannot provide credit…

    Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
    Its rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
    My chequer tolled me sew.

Thanks for making me laugh so hard that I almost spit up a mouth full of coffee all over my machine, Reg.
