    hey brendan,
    well ive tried another approach…i set my camera at 24p at 1080i..then put the settings on the software at 1080p/ 23.976 and the raster demensions at 1440 x 1080.. now the video came in the record monitor, but when i tried to capture… this message popped up..( sm return tape mob off set.source mob edit rate 24 doesnot match the edit rate 30) i hope this can give you some insight on my issue…..

    well i tried to import the media files, and its not working….its saying ( the file format of new project avb is not supported for import) is there a format that i have to adjust the settings to…..need help…

    what is the m2t files? and you think it is from the camcorder hard drive…..you have to bear with me, im am more familiar with smaller camcorders and less complex editing software…..this is my first professional camcorder and complex editing software…

    i am having the same problem…but i have a sony hdr fx1000 and avid media composer 3.5..my camera settings are 24 progressive at 1080i..ive just purchased the camera and the avid program.do i follow the same format as the gentleman you helped with the sony hard drive….i need help….
