    Ok

First solution: sonic scenarist. you can create ANY YOU WANT. But – if you know how to programming
Second solution: try to use sonic’s Roxio Easy media creator:
    see https://www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/suite/overview.html
    and https://www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/suite/features.html

My solution – create DVD from Roxio, then decompile by DVDReauthor, then author as you want in Scenarist 🙂

    Imho:
    If you have
    1. MPEG2 hardware encoder with RS-232 control, 2 or more pass VBR
    2. Digibeta (or other hight-quality player/recorder)
you not need CCE or ProCoder 🙂

If you need to capture video, then edit, then encode from tileline, or you render video from 3dmax or other, you need CCE! 🙂

Short: if you have 30.000$ 🙂 or more to buying MPEG2 high-quality hardware encoder and you must capture from IN to OUT, then you need Optibase card or other.
If you need HIGHEST-QUALITY software encoder with multipass_vbr, and 3xRealtime encoding -> you need CCE 🙂
Note! SP2 optimized to multi-cpu mashines!

    Hm..

    https://www.alcorn.com/products/dvm/specs.html
    https://www.alcorn.com/library/appnotes/encodingstandarddefvideo/index.html

    Video Resolution 704×480 NTSC; 704×576
    Aspect Ratios 4:3 or 16:9

I mean that you need to use procoder’s General ISO MPEG file, this set resolution to 704×576 and aspect to 4:3. But i’m not sure that ProCoder’s ISO MPEG Stream is “comply to ISO/IEC Specification 13818-2”

    first:
    1. source video parametrs – size, fps… ?
    2. target Procoder settings ?

second q: yes, multiplexed m2p by procoder = encode as elementary streams and multiplexing with any other utility

October 19, 2006 at 11:50 am in reply to: Writing a project to a dual layer disc

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!

I try to write DVD+R DL by GEAR’s help 🙂
My Video_TS folder was created by Sonic Scenarist 3.01….
Hm…Gear CANT create LB in sector i need!!!
Then, GEAR CAN’NOT set book-type to DVD-ROM (it is NEED for all +R DL disks that you write!)
And….GEAR NOT ANALYSE ifo files from project – my Scenarist VIDEO_TS files was relocated not correctly!
And….WHAT IS A PROGRAM, when need to calculate LB by Excell? 🙂
And….See that you right by IfoEdit?

    GEAR Mastering need to:
Write DVD5/DVD9 to DLT, no more!

    ImgBurn:
    – FULL IFOs parsing
    – Book-type Settings
    – create Image-file from your VIDEO_TS
    – write image files by setting sector number for LB
    – write VIDEO_TS folders to DVD+/-R DL (!!! i’m NOT use -R DL because compability problems with old dvd-players)
    – can RELOCATE LB (not sure – need?????)
    – can ask you – WHERE is layer break must be
    – FREE! (gear cost???)
    – and many others….

This is not presentation, and i not a agent 🙂
    I’m expert – authoring, reauthoring, transcoding, recording…. 🙂

  • 🙂
    Scenarist is more-in-one software.
And if its cost is not a problem – scenarist is better

  • Scenarist is the best authoring software, but….
Scenarist requred FULL authoring control: from preparing source material to writing to dlt or dvd_media
I use Scenarist from 1998, and mean that NO MORE software for dvd authoring 🙂
Yes, must create menus and subtitles by in other programs, but result is fine.
By Scenarist you can author “cell-level” projects. No any other program can do it.

If you have Scenarist, you can see my project “wedding” at https://www.spline.ru/DigitalVideo/svba_script.rar
This is example how to create menus “without buttons”

    1. I use DVDMaestro when i need to create simply projects with menus and simple navigation.
By Maestro it’s simply than by Scenarist.

    2. After Maestro created VIDEO_TS, this folder can be written to DVD-R by Gear or Nero. After Scenarist create VIDEO_TS folder you can only test your project – need to write to DVD-R only image file.

If you want “nice menus” 🙂 – use DVDLab, Encore, Architect…..
If you want powerful authoring – use Scenarist

ps: now Sonic shipping Scenarist HD-DVD and Scenarist Blu-ray – this is the future.
