I’ve also had problems getting FCPXML into Logic for a short recorded with double system sound. I spent a fruitless few days with Apple support on the issue before going the X2Pro route which works perfectly.

I eventually solved this problem. It turns out that it was the Western Digital MyBook hard drive that was causing the issue by taking too long to spin up during capture. I’ve since tried 2 different makes of external hard drive and they don’t give me any problems.

When I tried with firewire, I had the hard drive plugged into the mac’s firewire port and the camera connected to the hard drive’s second firewire port. I found some info on the internet about problems with this kind of setup. But when I connected the external drive by eSata (through an expresscard interface on the macbook pro) or USB, I still got problems
