hi noah, an update:

my work around is to specify 16:9 pan-scan in dvd studio pro. this means that it plays as it should on a 16:9 tv, but with the two sides cropped off when viewed on a 4:3 tv. while i would prefer it to be letterboxed on a 4:3 tv, my priority is for 16:9 tvs. anyway, thanks for your help.

yeah, i agree, it should not be happening. but it is and its frustrating.

Unless the DVD player is set to force 4:3…
i don’t think it can be the playback setup i’m working with- as i say, it plays another 16:9 dvd fine…

my stack of blank discs for testing is dwindling- any other ideas?
