the way the paths are revealed and the rather simple perspective motion makes me thing this was done in Ae and properly faked to give the impression it was 3D. here’s a nice tutorial about how to achieve it:

this is usually done by placing a captured video of a splatter caught on tape and then composited over the image using standard compositing methods including tracking if necessary. you may found something in here:

I suspect this is a GPU rendering issue. try this – in the Queue panel in AME use “Mercury playback engine software only” as your renderer and not and not “GPU” and try again.

I would advise against that. you are not trying to scale the layer but to hover through it. you should make it a 3D layer and use the Z position. it will move much more realistically and you will find that controlling it is much easier because you can control the whole movement in a single parameter instead of two. tracking the text is an overkill. this is a simple movement you can easily reconstruct yourself

not so much of a page turn. you can use a distort effect like corner pin or CC power pin and keyframe the corners[Calvin Hones] ” and the “inverted 3D cube” rotation from then to 0:25″
set your layer to 3d and offset it’s anchor point back in Z space
now just animate the Y rotation
when you are satisfied, duplicate the layer and offset it in time
you can create precomps of these layers (leave all attributes) and place anything you want inside

up and down: use the scroll wheel
left and right: alt + scroll wheel
zoom in: Ctrl + scroll wheelnote: the navigation bars will only be visible if they are needed

you lost me there. I think I still don’t understand the issue… if you could illustrate what the result should look like visually in photoshop or other ways then I think we can offer some way to deal with this. many ways to make a matte, surely there is a way that will satisfy what you need.

I am not sure how you created your mattes. many ways to create a matte in Ae. here’s one similar setup to what I think you want. see this setup and tell me if that looks like what you want. if not, explain exactly what’s the issue
