    Thanks for the quick response Gary.
    It’s an AJA IO, not an LA or LD, on the website it’s at this link https://www.aja.com/html/products_Io_Io.html

    I’m a freelancer and it’s in a suite I do some work at.

    I also emailled AJA and they replied within minutes which impresses me.

    They suggested:

    1) Make sure there are no other firewire devices connected to the computer;
    this includes firewire storage.

    2) Reset the computer PRAM:
    a) Turn off the computer.
    b) Turn the computer back on and hold down:

    keys.
    c) Release after the second alert.

    3) Try flashing the Io with firmware version 21-26:
    https://www.aja.com/html/support_Io_swd_arc.html

    So I’ll try that and see how it goes….

    Have you tried installing different drivers? I had problems with AJA IO v3.0 (with my OS and FCP versions) and went back to v2.1.
    May not work but might be worth a try.

    Thanks for the replies, big help. It was a driver problem.
    Version 3 driver doesn’t work with FCP 4.5, so had to go back to Version 2.1 driver.
