using CBR of 7.0MBps

changed to VBR min 2, targ 6, max 8…same dilly

hmmmm….you may be on to something there.

i’m sure a temporary file needs to be created huh?

8.2g free on C.
…though i believe i set all my scratch disk stuff to point to other drives.

checking….
yes

media cache is pointing to a volume with 14gb free
scratch disks, video and audio preview are looking to other drives which have between 30 and 52gb free.

As an fyi to others who have viewed this…

The pinnacle movie box converter is not recognized by trial versions of premeire elements and pro.

just figured i’d throw that out there to save someone some finagling(sp.) :).

Thank you for the super informative reply!!

It seems as though the MovieBox has two capture fornats, either DV or MPEG so, I just may give Elements a shot.

I may also just spend the extra $50 (as you mentioned) and get the Canopus box with Premiere Elements.

The writeup for the Pinnacle package I got seemed right at the time. After working with the Studio package a bit, it was obviously limiting.
