    Hey Dave and anyone else,

This is how the DNAishness turned out.

    Thanks again for the help.

    Hey Dave,

Can you please broach prudence? I’m interested in what you have to say there.

The way I’m doing the DNA is making hexagonal beams with 3D layers parented to a null scaling into existence via Null parenting. As each one grows it spins into the right position. At the end of each beam is an icon. I may go the extra 1,000,000 miles and try to do little diagonal connectors from beam to beam to really give the impression of a helix. Once it’s built I can play god with the AE camera!

    And all this, sport socks!

    peas,

Thanks for your feedback guys. I guess for me, it’s just that everthing I see that is really effective and set to music is always animated in such a way that the “hero moments” if you will, are timed with the music. Also I find that the bpm can really drive animating. So Dave, how do you animate with out music and then put audio on it and deal with out of sync moments? I can see how this would work if you block out your timeline ahead of the animation and then are, yourself, a composer or have one at your disposal. But I can’t believe you just go for it with no sense of regular timing do you?

    thx,

No, there’ s some new “have to use you first and last name thing” on the creative cow. I was trying to fill that in which didn’t work (I already had my real first and last name in there, so go figure), and since I was using the back button on the browser it posted three times. Seems like the site should be smart enough to recognize duplicate posts.

    feedback on topic?

    thx
