I did something like this in my last AE tutorial, “Shatter-MATION”,
basically using the shatter effect to animate text.

BTW: Another thanks for your expressions converting comp position to particular position… that has been quite useful for me.

Terrific solution… I knew the answer had to be in expressions, but I have a lot more to learn in that area before I can solve such a problem.

Rick… I had the same problem after upgrading to a new mac and FCP 6.0.5.
I realized the problem only affected projects that I had carried over from my old mac.
The waveform cache files were on an external drive and FCP couldn’t find them.
I deleted these files, re-opened FCP and viola… there were my precious audio waveforms.
