Thank you for posting the information on the Playhead change. I did actually look at numerous reviews of 10.0.6 and didn’t see it mentioned anywhere, including in the text version of the Steve Martin (no relation) article you referenced.
I would love to see Apple allow that change as an option for the one handed editors out there like me, and would like to have seen them list “Behavior Changes Which Will Affect Your Editing With Every Click” more prominently than “Awesome New $25,000 Camera Support Features” in the release notes.
But that’s just me.
I have also noticed several times where my audio has gotten louder and louder and louder on playback within FCP as it crosses over Bladed clips, if each of the clips was independently audio corrected. If I stop, the audio returns to normal. It’s not consistent, but has happened more than once. I have also more or less lost the ability to hit the + or – button surrounding the timeline duration slider (controlling how much of the footage is shown in the timeline at one time). It doesn’t control things most of the time, requiring use of the slider by hand, which is less than precise.
I do like some of the other new features, however. The Multi-clip Blade (Sh-Cmd-B) is awesome for poor man “multi-cam” when you’ve got inputs that either don’t match or don’t have TC or you just don’t have space or time to deal with multicam on a quick and dirty project.
