Aside from not knowing what the odd undertone is all about, I never actually said that mono can or should be panned, sorry. All I know is, that what you describe doesn’t work here upon export and simple playback with any given player, and I’m very aware of what I’m doing, yes. I still don’t know how you are bussing the channels from e.g. the QT player (or whatever it is they plan on using) to separate channels for individual mixing as she describes she needs.
And if you have everything assigned to roles as needed, how are you needing “to touch every single piece of audio”? Filter by role in the Index, select all, set pan. And even if they aren’t assigned, there’s always “Paste Attributes”.
Whatever. Guess we’ll just have to let her give it a shot and let us know how it worked out. I’m certainly very curious.

I personally wasn’t aware that there in fact was one. But yes, it’s perfectly fine to have both FCPs on the same machine, you just want to have 7 on there first, then install X. But no, there is no copy/pasting of media from one timeline/bin etc. to the other, if that’s what you’re asking. You simply just import the captured media into 7 from wherever you told X to put it, like you would with any other footage.

To understand better what your best option may be: WHY do you need the keywords i.e. in what context? Since I don’t think I’m understanding what you need correctly or rather what exactly you’re trying to achieve. The only thing I could say of the bat would be to simply REPLACE the untagged clips in the angle editor with the tagged ones? Though unfortunately the regular replace function doesn’t work in the angle editor. But again, I don’t get where it is you need the KWs. In the angle editor or the project? You can’t of course apply separate keywords to separate angles outside of the angle viewer, if that’s what you mean.

She won’t be getting that with what you describe, unless I’m completely missing something. I don’t see how you can do a left/right separation without panning each first, sorry. And if you pan, why separate? Since how else are you going to distinguish between the two channels during playback with things just on separate tracks but all playing centered at the same time?
A role-based panner would be brilliant just about now. 🙂

Without a driver/plugin there’s no way FCP can or will see it as an output option.

Why make the detour through Compressor?

It doesn’t exist. You’ll simply want to edit in any given fps and simply make a Compressor preset that outputs with the desired codec etc. and set the fps manually to 15 and use that in FCP for the final export.

Well, I have no idea how you’re doing it, but if I simply place random clips in the timeline and set their pan mode to Stereo Left/Right and set them each to either side, then no matter how I export it (Apple Device, Master etc.) they come out exactly that way. No roles or other special export settings. Just exactly the way one (at least me) would expect it to work.

As I’ve already stated (twice) that if you have an instance left in the timeline then the clip is not moved to the trash. You are merely deleting the clips reference (or alias or whatever you want to call it) in the event. The exact same thing as in FCP 7 btw. Therefore there can also not be anything that could be “emptied”.
