DVCProHD is 100Mbps. So that’s more compressed than ProRes
You could try HDV, too, since you’re just cutting something together for your client to reference, but that might result in a long render toward the end when you’re ready to export.
You could also try DV-NTSC since, again, you’re just cutting together a reference video. But then, of course, you’re at SD resolution

Your hard drive doesn’t dictate render time. That’s a job your CPU handles.
Have your past projects been similar to the project you’re currently rendering? If not, you’re not making a fair comparison. The length of the timeline, applied effects, formats and codecs, etc all affect your render time…

Have you tried clicking on that little button that has a Key on it? It toggles between Final Image, Matte, Source.

Near the bottom left corner of the Color Corrector 3-Way interface there is a little triangle. Click on that triangle to reveal the Limit Effect controls of the CC 3-Way. It’s these tools that allow you to isolate corrections to a specific color

Try going to Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard.
Make sure you’re in the “Keyboard” pane.
Below the sliders there is an option that says, “Use All F1, F2 etc. keys as standard function keys.” This forces the user to hold down the fn key if they want to use the function printed on that key. This should allow FCP use those F-keys as shortcuts.

Sure.
1. Export your Master.
2. Drag the Master to your Compressor icon in your dock. This will open your Master in Compressor automatically.
3. Go to the Settings tab and locate the H.264 setting. Drag that setting to your video 15 times (because you want 15 segments)
4. Every time you drag a setting to your video in Compressor, it creates a new “job.” Click on a job to load it into the Inspector window and the Preview window. When the Preview window is selected, you can mark In and Out points to tell which portion of your video you want Compressor to compress. Because you want your video broken up into 15 segments, you need to mark the In and Out points for each “job.”
5. Click submit
That’s the best I can do for ya. If you are still having a hard time understanding, then you might need to crack open the manual and wrap your head around Compressor.

Yes. Export your master…your 80-minute timeline. Bring that Master into Compressor. And 15 Jobs to you video and mark in and out points in Compressor’s Viewer window.
