    I would go with RAID 0 since it’s faster and gives you more storage. Be sure you are backing up your FCP project files though. You’re auto save vault should be on a different drive as well.

    In the Canvas window, just above the middle of the image there are 3 buttons. Change the MIDDLE button to “Open.” Whichever clip the playhead is on top of will load in the Viewer window, ensuring that the clip you are making changes to is the clip you are seeing in the Canvas. Maybe that’s the issue?

    Go to:

    System Drive > Library > Quicktime and make sure the HDV codec is in there. I think the file should be named: AppleHDVCodec.component

    A few months ago, a bunch of my codecs disappeared on me for no apparent reason, and my only solution was to reinstall FCS.

    I’m going off my experience, someone else may have another solution.

    I’m not sure how to fix the Out Of Memory error though. I’ve gotten that once even though I have 12GB of RAM, but restarting my computer solved that issue.

    when you’re compressing for the web, file size isn’t the most import part; it’s data rate – the rate in which data is transferring.

    So for a video to buffer without interrupting playback, the data of that video must flow to your end user slow enough for their internet connection to handle it. make sense?

    For Quicktime, I usually go with 750 to 1000 kbps, but you can go much lower with Flash and maintain nice quality, as well as reach a wider audience.

    You mean you expected the footage to be slo mo when you converted the 60p to 24p? That will not make slo mo.

    To make slo mo you CONFORM (not convert) the footage from 60p to 24p in Cinema Tools

    Yes, that is because computer screens use square pixels. Once you make an image with non-square pixels, they look bad on a computer screen, but they look correct on a broadcast reference monitor. This is one of many reasons why it is essential to use a reference monitor. So keep that in mind for your next project
