February 8, 2019 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Outputting frame sequence but only every Nth frameHi Dave, thanks for the response. Yes, clearly that would be helpful.
frame rate from drone footage = 23.976
frame rate from comp – 23.976There is not a “frame rate” from the photogrammetry conversions software. It’s not looking at a frame sequence, it’s simply looking at a collection of photographs inside a folder. The names attached to those photos (i.e., sequence numbers) are completely irrelevant to the software. You can (and I do) combine still photos taken from ground level with frames from the drone. They can in fact be different resolutions and aspect ratios though it tends to perform better when all the frames share similar color grading.

Yep, that did it! Thanks Duke. Only a decimal point release difference in my AE versions, but that was enough. All working fine now.

Hi Duke,
Thanks for the quick reply. Actually… In the past I’ve had Premiere launch an earlier version of AE (I had not upgraded) with no problem, but with new versions you may well be correct. Just because doing that process *launches* After Effects doesn’t mean, I guess, that it will sync correctly with a mismatched version. Let me check my versions, hold on…

Looks like Premiere is current, but AE needs to be updated. I’ll go through that process and report back. That could be it, thanks!Robert

August 2, 2016 at 12:51 pm in reply to: PP CC 2015 v 10.3.0 (202) Build – DON’T UPGRADE if you color correctThere’s a very active thread about this on the Adobe forums. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2170422
We’re informed by Adobe that if enough people fill out a Bug Report or Feature request here… https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
they will consider re-establishing the DirectLink.Yep, I plan on moving to Resolve, but I’m backed up for months with SpeedGrade CC work, and there’s no practical way to transition at this point.
Please add your name to the Bug Report (though, yes, it’s not technically a bug, but still that’s what they’re telling us to do) if you’d like to see SpeedGrade/Premiere pipeline live on. At least for another version or so, giving us all time to transition to Resolve.

November 10, 2015 at 2:47 pm in reply to: Canon DSLR recorded a random DAT file amongst the MOV’sJust want to pipe in here. SO glad I found this thread. A few months after we shot an event with a couple of 5Ds, found one critical .mov file was corrupt and reading as a .DAT file. https://www.aeroquartet.com service completely saved us. Salvaged the 2gig file and had it back to us in an hour. Cost us $95, but well worth it.

I just bought this laptop (literally, THIS one) …

… and I’m very very happy with it. USB 3.0 ports all the way around. I’m using it with Premiere CC 2014 and 6000 clip mega project. It’s scrubbing like butter through all clips. Not crazy about Win 8, but I’m coming around. My first SSD drive, and I’ll never go back. Also have been doing a lot of AE work as well as 3D. All feels as fast as my big desktop workstation.
Best news is, it’s lighter than my old MacBook Pro. Unbelievably light. Also just very solid feeling despite being so light. QHD screen doesn’t suck either.

Should have requested Arrow SCRIPTS instead of templates. Arrow templates are kind of useless. Anyway, a few pages down in a Google search revealed this nice script.

Haven’t bought it yet, but it looks promising!
