    Hey Danny,

Thanks again for the attention.. The MPG2 worked pretty darn good… BUT,, there were some glitches… unexplainable little hicups that I can see in the time line, fractions of a second… there are maybe 4 of them over ten minutes in random spots. any idea?

Also, and maybe this has something to do with it, I shot the film 720pn …… when the settings for exporting it came about I had the choice of drop frame or no drop frame… I wasnt sure which to pick..

    Any advice on that front?

    Thanks so much

This in response to my problem with the DVD footage and colorbar.

I think I figured it out. It turns out the footage was indeed not linked.

It was linked in the Master Time line, and it was linked in the subsequence that I created it it before importing it into the Master sequence, so in both of those it previewed just fine. BUT, it WASN’T linked correctly in the AE timeline I used to dynamic link it in the sub-sequence. Odd though, that it wasn’t linked correctly in AE and still rendered and played correctly in PP.

After I linked it correctly, the sub-sequence asked me to render, good sign. That rendered, I closed it and opened the Master Sequence, which too asked me to render, good sign. It’s rendering now, I am expecting that it will now show up in the export window.

I will try Danny’s suggestion on the MPEG2 setting and work from there for my smaller size video.

Thanks for reading— tips are still very much welcome on getting it small and nice. Again, the MPEG2 will be around 720 Mb

    Doctor Danny,

Thanks for the quick reply. Noted: uncompressed – bad idea.

I entered your MPEG2 settings in, all looked pretty good. Came out to be 750 MB which is expected.

I didn’t process it because I am still having the problem with this other footage in the timeline. I thought maybe it was missing from the project bin, or unlinked. But seems on there. I am opening now the original sequence that uses that footage and see if it exports from there.

Will keep you posted… thanks again! Any ideas on getting your MPEG 2 down to a file that can me sent via the web?

    Cheers ,,

    BOB

    Hey David —

Very well noted .. Thanks for that .. a small little move within that 115% might help things, for certain. Thanks for the insight. I guess the best way to find out the result is to get cracking on my editing.!

You might be interested to know the shots I am speaking of are mostly in Brooklyn. Hope to do it proud. 🙂

    Thanks again,

    Hey Dave,

Thanks, so much, for the feedback. I completely understand. We have the shots we were after during planning, but a few new ideas came up afterwards “Oh, this might have looked better if we….” ….. as far as lightening/shadows…. small budget, mother nature, tight schedule = flat look …. I am sure it will look better after I run Looks/Colorista …. THANKS again for your time and advice.
