    Thanks for both replies.

    However, I remain puzzled. I read that although the Canon ‘cannot’ do anything else than AVCHD, that CS3 will ‘downgrade’ to standard definition automatically. Which would mean I could edit, right ?

    Now, would I be better to have a AVCHD capable (now) and go through CS3 and downgrade (and still, would this provide a decent result?).

    Going to HDV means having a firewire interface, from my understanding… And: not sure I wish to spend $1K at this point.

    And frankly: I am not crazy about having another cam that require a media (I used to have a Mini DV – so complicated to transfer to PC… ) I want an easy thing.

    I was reading that AVCHD can be edited in a little consumer software such as ULEad… Should I then buy ULead and make the transition to Standard mode there, then load the result for further edition nto CS3?
