Here’s a thread on Vimeo about this problem. Terry Maday did create a new account and that solved the Untitled uploads problem. So it must be account based. Feel free to pile on here: https://vimeo.com/forums/help/topic:286666

Here’s the basics: macOS 10.12.1/FCPX 10.3/ MacPro 2013-8 core-D700’s-64GB
I am seeing the same kind of occasional dropout problems that you guys are seeing with the latest and registered RX5 Advanced and Alloy 2. Both in playback and a rendered master file. I’m stacking Dialogue De-Noise and Alloy 2 on each clip. Eliminate one or the other, everything seems OK. Both have occasional dropouts across multiple clips. This combo worked just fine in 10.2.3. I haven’t heard back from Izotope.

I called ProApps support and they were unaware of this problem. They encouraged me to send feedback through FCPX. Anyone with the same problem should do the same. Ya would think that Vimeo would be a bit more helpful than passing the buck. I think I’ll go rattle their cage …

I’m having the same issue with direct uploads to Vimeo. Vimeo is pointing the finger back at Apple. This is the first mention I’ve seen of this issue anywhere. Time to start a thread on the Apple FCPX Support page …

If you are going to build it yourself, check the specs on the B&H site. The Pavillion has 8GB of RAM and the Geforce 9800 has 1GB. That will probably make a difference in performance. Right now, I’m seeing about a 1 frame lag behind the Canvas in FCP and the UltraScope, something I assume is pretty normal.
Good Luck!

I am one of those people Bob was talking about. I wanted cheap… but also something that would work well. So I bought the B&H turnkey system for $1600.00, added a 24″ monitor I had kicking around… and I was good to go. Just installed it today. Brainlessly simple and HALF the cost of a new Mac Pro, let alone the added cost of the EVGA GTX 285. And yes, it’s a cheap computer, a HP Pavillion 6340f with a GeForce 9800. But Bob said it would run fine… and it does.
I’m with Bob here. I don’t see the market for the Mac UltraScope unless your Great Aunt Bertha leaves you a Mac Pro in her will. And I’m a stone cold Mac guy. I consider Windows a cruel joke. But, unless you consider the Windows alternative here… the jokes on you. Save the XServe horsepower for something that needs it.

Yes, the Varicam does sound like the way to go. I would rather do a downconvert from Varicam “NTSC” HD to DVCPRO50 SD… than a standards convert from PAL to NTSC going the SDX900 way. No telling what that 25p to 24p converstion would look like going through even the best standards converter.
Thanks to all for the info!

> 1) there is not a PAL version of the Varicam.
That’s what I thought but Panasonic Europe sure makes it seem like there’s something “special” about the camera when I downloaded the specs. Must be the power supply. 😉
Thanks for the info and advice. Now if everything was only this simple!
