I have been following it for a while. Pretty much works as advertised but it is still a beta piece of software. The author, Chris Hocking, is very responsive to questions and requests. I have had some performance issues in the past but nothing show stopping. When I ran into issues, I simply uninstalled Hammerspoon and Hacks and all was well. I encourage everyone to support Chris. Finally someone can peek under the hood of FCPX and get us the features that we want, not just taking what Apple and Plug-n providers give us.

Yesterday, I posted a video to Vimeo and the name appeared like it used to. Maybe they fixed it and didn’t tell us? Check it out. YMMV.

I have been playing with FCPX Hacks for a month or so and providing some feedback to Chris Hocking, its creator. It is beta level software and has some hacks (hence the name) as well. He has the following disclaimer on https://latenitefilms.com/blog/final-cut-pro-hacks/ :
“DISCLAIMER: As some of the Advanced features in FCPX Hacks make changes to Final Cut Pro’s internal files (which requires your Administrator password), please take care when using on mission critical or production systems. However, FCPX Hacks basically sits “on top” of Final Cut Pro, so it shouldn’t ever cause Final Cut Pro to crash to slow down.”
FCPX Hacks runs under Hammerspoon ( https://www.hammerspoon.org ) So it you are running into wonky behavior in FCPX with FCPX Hacks/Hammerspoon running, simply quit Hammerspoon. No Hammerspoon, no FCPX Hacks. My experience is that it is a work in progress but has in no way screwed up my system while delivering mission critical stuff.
I love FCPX Hacks and I encourage its development. Let’s face it, Apple is historically slow (if ever) to implement user requests. Chris has done some fine work trying to get around that. What’s fascinating (as I understand it) is that a lot of what Chris is enabling exists in the FCPX code. So things like the number one request on FCPX.tv … a Scrolling Timeline … has been there all along. Chris simply “turned it on”. For me, it’s like telling Apple to suck it for not responding to the professional community. Go get ’em, Chris! (rant off)
Give it a shot.

As of today, Vimeo is still working on it.

I guess the real patience and waiting starts now.
Thanks for the update, Craig!

December 9, 2016 at 3:41 pm in reply to: Does anyone have issues with FCPX 10.3 and Izotope RX5 Plugin Pack Demo?Hi all,
I have been in touch with Will from Izotope. Here are the pertinent bits of his first set of questions. YMMV:
————–For troubleshooting purposes, could you let us know if the issue occurs in every session, or only in sessions with large amounts of effects and clips?
Funny you should ask. I initially had problems when working on an older (6 months ago) library. But with a newer library (current) no problems. The older library is a bit on the massive side (735GB) whereas the newer one is 350GB. In both cases, Alloy 2 and RX5 Dialogue Denoiser were present on pretty much every clip.
Additionally, could you let us know if this happens only with Alloy 2 or only with RX Plug-ins, or only when both are used at on
Both.

Hopefully this helps. I’ll let you know what he says. Thanks!

Still having the same issue with the 3 files I uploaded today. One more thing: Any Description you might have added doesn’t show up on Vimeo either. I’ll tag this on Vimeo too.

December 3, 2016 at 4:56 pm in reply to: Does anyone have issues with FCPX 10.3 and Izotope RX5 Plugin Pack Demo?If they come up with a fix, please post it here. My workaround is to export via fcpxml/X2Pro to Logic Pro X to sweeten and mix there. Major overkill for a simple dialogue track … but there you have it.
