No express slot unfortunately. This missing express slot is really starting to kill me (I posted about the P2 reader a little while back that you responded to).

Thanks Art, but the problem (as stated in the original post) is my 15in MBP doesn’t have the Express35 Slot.

Yea, that’s exactly what I was referring to.

I wish the Express slot would have stayed. I have so many SD card readers that came with cameras, cards, etc. I don’t know what to do with them anymore.

I’m not a huge fan of the size of the 17in MBP. The single card reader is nice, but it’s just that…a single card reader. I may just put this one on eBay. I’m pretty sure Panasonic released the same reader I have with a USB2.0/FW800 interface sometime after.

You need CF cards, not SD cards. Also, I use a Zoom H4n and I think you would be far better off. You can record your audio using XLR input or the 90-120 degree directional mic on the device. Syncing the seperate audio/video files in Final Cut is a breeze with Pluraleyes.

Get yourself a Manfrotto tripod and a quick release plate (I use Manfrotto 377) so you can jump between your tripod and your handheld rig fast.

Last thing, I don’t know if money is an issue or not, but if it is I say go for some cheaper accessories and put that money saved towards glass! I’ll take a nice Zeiss lense, a steady hand, and some stabilization in post over a $1,000 handheld rig any day!
