    hi, dave,

    i will try that.
first the software, then the hardware option.
this will be in a few days, though.

    thanks a lot.
    have a nice weekend!

well, i am a video editor who likes to make the music as well.

it would be ideal for me to be able to make the music and sketch the video edit without having to render and bounce back and forth.

but now i am starting to think i got this whole midi-sync thing wrong.
my wish is to have acid and vegas in a sort of rewire mode.

    Thanks, John,

i tried installing it, but it says it won’t install on my 64 bit vista system. bummer.
i did manage to install loopbe1 virtual midi.
it shows up in both vegas and acid, but i still don’t seem to be able to get them to sync up. i must have tried every possible combination of settings in both programs.

would you please be so kind to explain to me what the settings should be in both vegas and acid?

-or do i really need to get back to xp?

    Thank you, Noah,

i am hoping to find a workflow, where i don’t have to render in between steps. is there no way for vegas to use the mp4’s, or AE to use the mxf’s?
that way i could make my edit in vegas, export my timeline into AE, without rendering.

I’m sorry, Douglas, it doesn’t work.
the files aren’t read only, i checked that.
i only experience these problems with the mxf files, not with any other type of file i use.

it should work, right? xdcam being Sony, and all..?
