see if the card will work in the camera – if so, try copying it to another card to recreate the directory structure on a new card…

Hi I faced a similar issue – could play the clip in the camera after restoring the media but it would not transfer via my express card reader in my macbookpro or via a usb card reader. Each time clipbrowser attempted to transfer, the program would say that the media has been ejected and clipbrowser would no longer display anything from the SXS card (as i I just pulled the card out). Anyway, I read these threads, and examined the menu in the camera browser. I decided to DIVIDE the corrupted clip into 2 pieces (just decided to divide it right at the beginning as a shot in the dark). Then I copied the new clip (the second piece) to a fresh card in slot b (which supposed recreates the BPAV folder) and wallah! I successfully got most of my clip (minus a couple of seconds of footage in the beginning). I can live with that for now. Not sure what lead to the corruption in the first place but sure am glad I could extract most of the clip as noted above! hope this helps!

AHHH – you are right! I bet the preferences changed – never thought to check this. Yep they are JPGS definately. Of course, I am already done with this part…good to know in the future.

One last question – Can AFX import a layer marker list from say a CSV file or text file?

Hi Dave,

First, thanks for your reply! Workflow wise, I did this in my editing software as suggested this monring instead – I was hoping that the robust nature of AFX had something that my editor didn’t to help automate this process. The best advice I guess is to keep it simple!

I read your reply and it seems that although the comp sizes can be created of the proper length and resolution as your process shows, the JPGS aren’t getting sized to the audio size though – that’s the problem. In other words, the screenshot needs to be hold for as long as the audio does since this is s tutorial. All the audio clips were created independantly by the author as voiceovers. He submitted JPGS of each step and a separate audio file to correspond. I am jsut trying to save some time of resizing each jpg to the audio file – but I am already done with this in the editor! Just though someone smarter than me had created some little trick to automate this process since I bet tutorials like this are done all the time. Thanks again.
