I rented a new JVC HM-700 that did not have the XDCAM converter back on it yet. I liked the fact that I could record on a medium that I did not have to buy or rent a playback device. The camera worked great by the way!

I’ll just have to work wit tech support to figure out the crash problem.

    Thanks
you restored my confidence in VEGAS, I will work with tech support to get this problem fixed. I converted my AVCHD files in a manner that JVC recomended for VEGAS. The rental house did not have the XDCAM converter installed on the camera at the time; that worked fine last winter.

I know what the specs say but I wanted to know what the real world might prefer. I finished an edit useing xdcam transcoded with Sony’s software and it worked but my computer might have been suffering from to small power supply.

It kept crashing my last computer but i also had to small of a powersupply to run all my periphials; you can’t trust a professinal computer geek when he tells you he can custom build a windows computer.

    Steve,
Thanks for getting back so quickly

I have vegas pro 8 latest updates. I tried running in xp 32bit.

I am trying to edit AVCHD that has gone through Caliberated {Q}XD so that I can edit it in vegas.

I just wondered what is the minimum software/CPU/RAM you would use to run vegas with out problems. Or how did you customize your machinne?

Here’s the scoop on my editor
    I’m running Vegas pro8 on a windows XP 64bit

I demoed a JVC GY-HM700 Here’s the link https://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?model_id=MDL101851&feature_id=01 and recorded in the SD format to a 16gig SDHC card. This plays back in final cut pro but for me to play it back JVC sys I need to use Calibrated{Q} XD Decode https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QXD.asp witch does let me watch it in the quick time viewern but their site will not let me order it yet so I don’t know how much it will cost.

Is there a better way to down load into vegas snd not have to buy this add on?
