  • You’re reimporting your items. Instead do:
    File/Scan for New Items

I got it too. I turned off the protected player and it started working again.

Nope, no joy. There must be a screwup in the posting or in mentioning a download on the website. And they way Bryson talked about it (correct me if I’m wrong, please) it might not be available as a stand alone product.

Ok, I found it. I was beginning to think I’d really lost it. From the website: https://www.squarebox.com/announcing-catdv-pegasus-client/

“Pegasus can co-exist with CatDV Enterprise clients and is available as a stand-alone product. The product is downloadable today as a public beta and the recommendation for production usage is expected soon”

So I’m interested in it as a standalone, rather than as a server. Very few people here need the ability to integrate CatDV (or anything) with an NLE. If they can feed me data from the CatDV database I take care of managing and manipulating the MXF files. I really miss the way I could so easily integrate the CatDV workflow and sequences with FCP. Using the MXF Options in v10 Pro are fine but not nearly as nice.

Could have sworn I saw a post somewhere mentioning a download of the Beta. Now I can’t find the reference. Oh well. Still want to try it with Media Composer.

Just depends on how large and complex your situation is. A VAR is there to help if you run into problems.

  • I seem to remember reading that you may have to reimport clips that were originally imported using the demo version. There was something deep in the Calibrated documentation to that effect — that some files would need that treatment. I don’t mean “reimport as,” but remove the originals and import the media into CatDV all over again. A limitation of using the demo version of the software.

Here Resolve works fine to open a file coming from FCP. Try doing a drag and drop from CatDV into FCP and then taking that timeline and exporting it again from FCP to Resolve.
