OK… just had my 1st issue with Set to Frame.

The issue … after I made an adjustment to scale, when I hit play the image size on the screen was reduced by 50%. When I stop playback, image goes back to full size. I’d note this seems to be a random bug and is not easily repeated, but once it happens, the only solution seems to be to revert to Scale to Frame and continue with the changes to the clip.

    Anyone else see this bug?

Looks like I’m going to have to use Scale to Frame until I can get a fix to this bug.

Hi Bob… Honestly, I’ve been too busy to take the RAID offline but I am still curious.

I would note I did do extensive testing with (8) Samsung EVO 850 1TB SSDs, and a 128K interleave turned out to be the sweet spot for READ performance (2600MB/s). When I put together this build with the (8) 3TB Seagate HDDs I did not have time to try various configurations, instead going with 128K interleave just to get the RAID up and running for a project. I figure, like the SSDs, these 3TB HDDs at 128K optimize read speed at the expense of write speed, which is OK, and that formatting at higher interleave values will increase write performance at the expense of read performance. But, I hope to check it out and would be glad to post a follow up if anyone remains interested.

    Thanks for posting Bob.

Thanks Peter. Excellent. Exactly what I was trying to figure out and now I have my answer.

Set to Frame size is what I want, as others have said, so I can playing the source image without degrading the image.

    Thanks for that tip.

A few other members on the list experience the same issue. I was given this link for anyone (everyone) to use to report the issue to Adobe. The way Adobe works, the more people that post on a particular issue, the sooner it might get resolved. Some things get resolved real fast, other not so much. 🙁

So Please feel free to use the link below to file a report.

BTW… I also posted a message about this issue on the AE Mail-List Server which is frequented by a number of Adobe folks. I asked if they could bring this to the attention of a PPro team member.

I have found… it might be the location of the mouse pointer. I find if I move around while trying to right click, I sometimes get access to the pull down menu.

    Thanks for the reply…

I just wondered if there was any inherent difference in the way the two methods work, such that one might provide superior image quality when zooming into the source material. Thanks

    Sorry Bob…

I was seeking advice on RAID0 settings within the ATTO ConfigTool software for an (8) HDD RAID built from the Seagate ST3000DM001 drives. ATTO recommended 128K Interleave with 512 sectors. I was just asking if anyone had an alternative settings recommendation based on their experience.

But I will consider the question asked and answered as far as you’re consider. Happy New Year Bob.

    Thanks Bob…

So the settings recommended by ATTO are the same you might use on these HDDs?
