February 25, 2013 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Alpha Problem in FCP X that docent happen in FCP 7Again thanks for the time to help, I really don’t know what it’s happening I my FCPX that it’s 10.0.7 Payton.
I did what you did create a green back as you did and I don’t have the problem, but if I take that green background and I make it darker it show what I have been talking, low quality and the hallo around the color particle.
I include two stills one created as Payton do the test with a green background and one with the darker green background.stillwithpaytongreenbutdarker.jpg

February 22, 2013 at 6:52 pm in reply to: Alpha Problem in FCP X that docent happen in FCP 7Thanks Payton and Bret for the replay.
Payton her I have a link with a ProRes 4444 and it is 1 second and the file is 30mb.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nptp9xa43feoddg/ProRes%204444%20Premultiplied.mov
Bret and Payton the files is ProRes 4444 premultiplied, FCP X interpret the alpha as straight so I change to premultiplied in inspector.
The graphic artist export the video in different codec:
ProRes 4444, uncompressed and none in version straight and version premultiplied, and all of them give the same alpha problem in FCP X.Seen this problem the artist give me the animation without the alpha, the alpha was given as matte so I can combine in FCP X with compositing blend mode stencil alpha, this one work perfect.
I try the animation in all the version in FCP 7 and I didn’t have the alpha problem .
The final test that I did today is I toke the ProRes 4444 and add the Boris BBC Alpha Process and I lower the Gamma value from 1 to .50 and it work. So I think that FCP X change the alpha gamma.
Again thanks Bret and Payton for the help and have a good weekend.

It work with FCP X 10.0.6, I did a test. I import a photo 4608 x 3456, open in timeline, give some zoom in and export in same size as the photo 4608 x 3456.
Watch the tutorial and tried yourself .

Did you begin the project in FCPX 10.0.5 or before and have many compound clips and then update to FCPX 10.0.6. I have a 25 minute project that I begin in FCPX 10.05 and have a lot compound clips for audio (voice-over) then I update to FCPX 10.0.6 and the problem begin, to open the project it could take 10 to 20 min. I reed at a forum that there is a big difference in compound clips between 10.0.5 and 10.0.6 and that could be the problem. My fix, took all my compound clip and break them apart and recreate compound clip in FCPX 10.0.6, now the project open very fast and without any problem.
Hope this can help,

September 24, 2012 at 10:01 pm in reply to: FCP X don’t show audio files in the music and sound browsing. Thanks Bill for the help, I downloaded the extra material when I purchase FCP X 6 month ago. I also have meny sound fx that I purchase over the years in itunes that I use true FCP X. The past week I edited a TV spot and I use many sound fx from my collection and from FCP X collection.

Thanks for the response James but my concern about Mountain Lion is I also use FCP 7 with Aja LHI to capture and export to tape and I am not sure if it works.

I am referring to the viewer not the inspector.
