It finally worked when applying two options.
1. I removed the USB extension cable
2. I heated up the device for a while in the oven

Mysteriously it works again 🙂

Thanks for replying.

Unfortunately it does not work with the USB 2.0 hub.
I found a strange solution on a website where they advise to put the USB dongle in the oven??? at a non destructive temperature.

I will give it a go and let you know the endresult.
