Not sure what you mean by original audio. I made some assumptions by reading your post – I assumed someone shot “clips” (meaning video and audio) and that the audio on the “clips” were 44.1 —- I then assumed maybe it was a professional shoot or somewhere they added 48k wav files … either “extra” audio or recording at the same time and same content as the “clips and it was identical except it was 48.
At any rate, I made assumptions and would only be making more assumptions by trying to answer why. I would really need to know all about your assets and would even then probably need to make an assumption. Bottom line is that I don’t think you’ll have any trouble … you can always cross bridges when they come up. I think you’re in a good place and would carry on – sounds like you are doing well with minor glitches!

Someone probably made a sequence from the clips. By default the sequence settings take on the same parameters as the clips. You are change sequence settings at any time or you can dictate export settings when exporting sequences. Personally I would make the sequence settings the same as what I intend to deliver. PPro should re-sample all 44.1 to 48 on export, if exporting to 48 …BUT, I do not know if that will work on AAF to sound person.
As a quick check, simply duplicate the sequence and change the settings to 48 and see if there are any negative results.

bring your audio in as mono or before editing into a timeline right click and modify to mono.

Does Essential Graphics allow you to rotate in the effects panel?

We still use Encore with Photoshop for menu creation and Toast for burning ISO files. From industry standpoint DVD’s may be obsolete but we have several customers that still want DVDs.

I Avid edited for 20 years, had sworn allegiance. I now use PPro and love it – my advice is learn and use the standard keyboard layout, adding F key functions as needed for quick access to recurring commands.

I would see if conversion program like AME can convert and make it work. This isn’t what I thought it was but I would try any program to see if I could make a useable file for PPro

Make sure it is not a PPro Version conflict and/or related codec issue. This is common these days.

I’m sure Stan’s way would work. The only reason I said to do it that way is because I am a control freak and I want to know it does what I want it to do with all players including software on computers … but takes longer to author and being much more involved than Stan’s method.

The first landing menu, as pictured above, would be your “stereo with DV” menu. So clicking that button would simply reset the menu with “Ep 1” highlighted. All links on this menu go to the respective timelines with Stereo audio selected. The “5.1” button would go to a second, identical menu. On this menu, all “Ep” buttons would link to a playlist of timelines with these set to play the 5.1 audio. In this way you do not double the amount of space used on the disc (although you could duplicate the timelines if you have space). The playlist will allow you to set the audio to be played and have end actions to return to the 5.1 menu. Also on this “5.1”menu the “stereo” button would link to the first original menu.
