Thanks. But it’s not just slow. It will render fine a few times, then render only a few seconds. Then render only a couple of frames with that error next. From that point on, I can only get the 2 frames of render when hitting the zero key or selecting Ram Preview from the menu. Doesn’t seem that overall ram would be the problem, My iMac is core duo with – sorry – 4 gigs not 3 of ram. Again, when I talked to tech support (in India) they told me this was an issue with Snow Leopard. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. Thanks for your help.

Can you draw the motion paths, bezier, and then track them using a light as an emitter in Particular? I’ve had some success with this. Although this is pretty much what Andrew teaches, just with a more dramatic streak and random movement.

There are two ways. One would be to have a capture card in your computer. The video output from the camera would go into the card and get into the computer that way.
The other way is to get an analog to DV converter. This way you could capture to the computer via firewire and get right into Final Cut or iMovie. You can find these converters on line.

Regardless… and it’s a new iMac 27 inch… I’m looking at both on the same monitor. The problem happens when I output to ANY new format or just to another QT movie.
Interestingly, I just discovered that if I bring the “bad” exported clip BACK into FCP, it looks fine. So… it’s QT player that must be the problem.

    Thanks.
Yes…. the psd layer is not working in the alpha mode at all. All I see is a black shape. I’m using a transparent layer out of PS. WHen saving it, as I normally would, I assume it automatically has an alpha… plus it shows in the comp as a transparent layer with a black shape, so it must have an alpha. I’m getting black and white, semi-transparent footage when I select Luma Inv…. which is the only way I can see the image in the shape.
