They haven’t exactly opened the floodgates….

“This allowance does come with limitations, however as the aircraft must be operated by a three-man team, including a UAS operator with private pilot certification. All flying must be done within line-of-sight and can’t be operated at night. The operator must also submit a detailed plan of operations three days before any filming takes place with an inspection of aircraft before flights.”

But I am getting in plenty of hobbiest flight time and feeling much better at the controls. : )

Hmmmm…workflow is key. Must be easy to updated and change samples etc. We use Adobe Muse and so far so good…many don’t like its sloppy code, but for us the workflow wins.

    Good luck!

I think you could optimize your site as well for keywords. We use the Title description to add keywords…Google loves the title in HTML.

Also, for as many clients as you have shot for, you really need some samples on your site. Since I started in this business I have not needed a resume. People did not want to see who I worked for, they wanted to see the work. Your calling card is the ability to frame a difficult shot, come up with interesting angles that capture the subject and hold focus throughout a challenging shot etc.

Slim down the site and show prospective clients a peek thru your lens…samples of your work. If it is great, that will get them to you. And use your Titles in your code to “hide” important keywords. Don’t forget to include video production because sometimes that’s what people search for to find videographers. Also DP and Director of Photography.

  • Haven’t most new NLE’s boasted a resolution independent feature set? I thought you could throw any format video, regardless of codec, frame rate or even frame size, and it would all play nicely on the timeline. Quantel has had this for some time as well.

Why is it a new big deal?

And the codec sounds great. We use AVID Dnx to go from our Macs to PC users with the Avid codec and it works great.

We have the Seiki 65 inch in our lobby….bug head turner. We have a rotating selection of 4K jpegs that look great.

Looking at the Brightsign 4K player for digital signage.

With voices.com I describe the project, number of words etc and even set the range of what we can afford. This obviously will attract a different set of talent. Put a larger number and the talent level goes up. Works great.

Bingo! Exactly the fear I have. I just opened an AE file from 2008 and updated a simple animation and added it to the video in Final Cut in under 30 minutes. These were old files. But no issues.

FCP X still scares me when I look at my 75 terabyte hard drives with all that legacy work that still comes back. And the same thing would happen if we switched to FCP X. The legacy projects could come back to haunt us.
