Also I found a pretty cool lens shade that is also a polarizer and it really helps with glare but also gives the shot a lot more color and reduces overall light.
However I also removed the fisheye stock lens and put in the 15mm third party lens. A bit tricky getting it mounted right, but the thing looks way better than the stock lens. But not as wide either so maybe not a good fit for the very close up car shots.
Why not a bunch of A7s’s?

Upload speed is the key here. We went with 5Nines which is microwave and provides asynchronous up and down at 60mbps. Even Charter’s 100mbps down is great but they top out at 8mbps up. That is what the client is concerned about.
We even used to have T1 at 6 up and 6 down and since it also is a two way protocol we always had a solid 6 up.
You could ask your provider how much to provide one dedicated line back to their gear for a monthly rental and bill it to the client. Shouldn’t be too hard.
I have heard of clients demanding a hotel, for instance, to provide a dedicated line to a conference room for a live webcast, so it is not unusual.

Yes, but these are fairly recent. It has been a long time since 911. I have observed that larger corporate clients especially in the insurance and financial sectors were not ready for humor back in the scripts, even their large corporate theater shows. Heck even Harley was having fun before 911 with CEO spoofs and the rest, but after 911 until only recently, it has been all about numbers, sales and the hope for the future.
But lately I’m seeing a loosening of the reigns a bit and clients pointing to videos (like Walter’s example of a client referencing the Delta in air videos) hoping to add a little humor to the message.
Certainly works in Kickstarter videos.
But anyone else noticing this trend only recently?

The Red Raven actually turned my head toward Red for the first time. Let’s see if they deliver this Fall.
Mole lights actually are starting to look sexy.
The Yuneek Drone flew better to me than either the DJI or the 3DR. The Yaw on the Yuneek was just buttery and lots of control, rather than the herky jerky control on the others.
Edelkrone had some nifty innovations. Watch those guys because they are way more than sliders.
Actually talked to a gal from the LTO consortium. They had a booth. Not much info but they were there….I am finally interested in LTO with over 100 hard drives and the new LTO 7 to take all those drives to tape!
Finally had breakfast at Hash House a Go Go (and the Peppermill as always) and it was great. (drove out to the one out on the far west side, not the one on the strip).
JBL had a new speaker system that blew me away with their efficiency and accuracy. They played it loud and that I like!
The Christy Projection demo of HDR was dumb. They never even mentioned that the sound was through their own speakers. Other than the whole theater going pitch black (due to the low HDR blacks) they projected everything in 1080 even though it was a 4k projector.
The Canon 8K projection was glorious as well as that HUGE 8k wall.
Did GoPro have a big raucous booth? I didn’t even notice.
Had a blast….

Vimeo offers a pay per play model that is pretty low cost of entry. Might check into that too.

Yes, here too. I posted a while back about crashing and alluded to CUDA but my post was deleted.
We are also working with AJA because when we disable our Kona LHi cards we get more stable performance.
We have 2010 and 2012 Mac Pros with almost all GTX 680’s and plenty of regular RAM. Just lots of odd crashing where our monitors go completely black and we have nothing….only a hard restart.

I encourage you to spend some time at NAB looking away from content creation tools, and spend some time looking at the content. You typically see more of it being talked about in panels and keynotes, but if you’re feeling dour about the industry’s prospects, I submit that it’s because you haven’t grasped the scope of what’s happening out there.
I love that statement because that is one thing I do at NAB exclusively….watch content. I remember seeing the 8K demo from NHK a couple years back….never forget my first 8k! Looking forward to eye drooling 4k everywhere.
