I have been working with Caleb at New Blue for almost 3 months (and most recently with Ivan, who remoted into my PC last week using Teamviewer 12). Just prior to Ivan’s remote session I installed an NBTP 5 rewrite (for me??), which removes the ability to manually cache and render titles but does automatically do so when I exit the plug-in.
Mixed results. Some days when I open the “affected” VEG files all of the titles are what they should be, other days I have as much as 20% of the files mucked up–no rhyme nor reason, thus far, but the re-write DOES appear to work more smoothly with a better luck of finding things the way that they should be. After the remote session Ivan told me that they will be working on a fix. To date, this has not been accomplished (9 days since the remote session).
I will keep you posted on an as-needed basis–still PATIENTLY awaiting to hear back from Caleb, Ivan et al!!!

Sorry for the delay in responding, but for some reason I was not emailed when there was a response to the thread. Here is where I am at with NBTP 5:
Although everyday I have had to correct at least a half dozen titles on my timeline, today NBTP 5 current production release 170103-90 started placing “Enter Text” on ALL of my titles. This text only appeared on the timeline, not on the NBTP 5 interface. Unable to remove them, then, I thought that I would uninstall this version and install release 161226-409, one that New Blue developers wrote (in response to Caleb’s request) specifically to help eliminate the errors I was, and have been, having from the start. Caleb emailed it to me as an attachment on 12/27/2016. I noticed that the interface was a bit different (no circles, check marks or way to manually cache/render in the Title List section). Well, initial indications are that it WORKS–so far, after opening and closing several .VEG files, some of which were first generation problem files, it now appears that all pointers are correct and I no longer am losing titles and having to correct the “Enter Text” anomaly.
I will re-post if I am having more of the same, or other, problems in the next several days, but perhaps any of you also experiencing such titling problems can post them with New Blue with the hope that it can be rectified soon.
Let me know your thoughts about this, as well.
Thanks in advance.

I have been experiencing the loss of titles in New Blue Titler Pro 5 (Sony Vegas Pro 13, BTW), and reported it to New Blue. Caleb was assigned my case, but after going back and forth about this problem since 12/08/2016 and him being on top of it, I have not heard back from him since 12/29/2016. While you probably are privy to viewing my case on the New Blue Zendesk site, I want to bring it to the forefront here, as well, in case anyone else is experiencing this anomaly.
Please first note that this does not happen in .veg files where I only have a few titles. However, the .veg file in question has 43 titles (thus far), and all of the titles in question have been saved as .nbtitle files. To summarize, even though I have instructed NBTP 5 to enable the cache for each title, only cache the ROI, render cache at close and optimize for render speed, when I open the saved .veg file the next time a number of the titles are not there and the placeholder on my timeline points to the default “Enter Text”. The other day I manually rendered each title separately, insuring that in the NBTP 5 Title List that on each title row there were no grayed out circles (not cached?) or white check mark in grayed out circle (cached but not rendered?) AND that every row’s circle was a white check mark on a green background (cached and rendered?). So after this manual procedure as of the other day, ALL of my titles in the Title List appear to have been rendered. Today I opened up the .veg file, and out of these 43 files, 3 of them had grayed out circles (Unshared Template and “Enter Text” Variables), 13 of them had white check marks in grayed out circles (but with correct Template and Variables listed) and the rest of the 27 titles had white check marks on green backgrounds. You can read my Zendesk entries if you like, but the bottom line is that EVERY time I open this .veg file I must spend time looking at EACH title and place the correct saved .nbtitle file where the omissions occur. It appears to me, then, that NBTP 5 is not caching/rendering all of the time when it should and/or some pointers to the titles are getting lost…or perhaps it is beacause NBTP can’t handle this number of titles in one .veg file (the last of which I can’t believe, but…?)
Edward, you always have been of great help to me dating back to when I first purchased Excalibur (which, BTW, I STILL use daily), so I trust that maybe you can investigate and help bring closure to this problem. I need to know if I am doing something wrong, something is wrong with my install, or if in fact the problem lies with NBTP 5.
I thank you in advance, Edward, and hope that you will be able to shed some light on this soon!

February 24, 2015 at 3:59 pm in reply to: DVD Architect Pro 6 End Action Destination ProblemsI FOUND MY ANSWERS, thanks to a colleague on another Forum.
After spending some time combing through the DVD Architect Pro 6 manual, I found this little gem near the top of page 130:
“Note: The Menu button is not supported for Blu-ray Disc projects.”
End of story.
I hope that this may be of help to all of my fellow colleagues who may have had the same concerns.
So would it now be possible for this feature to be added to DVDA in the future??!!

February 23, 2015 at 7:20 pm in reply to: DVD Architect Pro 6 End Action Destination ProblemsP.S.
FYI, what makes this most confusing is that REGARDLESS of the End Action Destination pointer used (Most recent menu, Chapters (Page 1) or Chapters (Page 2), the preview function in DVD Architect Pro looks the exact same, e.g. in preview when I press the Main Menu button on the screen “remote control” when playing back a selection from either Chapters Menu, it goes to the most recent menu (which is what I want). No difference–NADA! However, when I render the file and burn it to disc, it STILL navigates to the Top Menu (Play ALL, Chapters) when I select the Top Menu.
I know there probably is something obvious that I am doing wrong (a switch that is not activated or a button that is not ticked), BUT WHAT??!!
Thanks again!!

November 22, 2014 at 3:30 pm in reply to: Boris FX – Graffiti + 125 Lower Thirds TemplatesThank you for your input, Steve. Unfortunately, I now am more confused than ever!! According to the email reply I received from Boris’ Director of Sales,
“Hello Rich,
Thank you for your interest in Boris Graffiti. Unfortunately Graffiti in not supported in Vegas 13. Maybe take a look at Boris Red. It had the same features as titling Graffiti. Let me know if you are still interested. ”
A few minutes later, another Boris sales associate emailed me that:
“Hi Rich,
The versions of Boris FX and Graffiti that are being offered by Corel, are specifically for developed for the Corel Product.
Those versions will not work in Sony Vegas.”
The host compatibility matrix for Boris FX plug-ins on the Boris web site (link from the Corel site where this package is advertised) is as follows:
Vegas Pro 13
Continuum Complete – version 8.1 or higher
RED – version 5 or higherVegas Pro 12
Continuum Complete – version 8 or higher
RED – version 5 or higher
Graffiti – version 6 or higher
Boris FX – version 10 or higher
Continuum Units – allSo what am I to believe? Has anyone out there ACTUALLY successfully used THIS PACKAGE in Vegas 13? Steve, where did you acquire your info? Is it a fact that you or someone else used it in Vegas 13?
Some say it works, others say it does not. I want to be sure before I purchase it, if at all, so I REALLY need hard facts and usage details.
Continued input from all would be most appreciated, and thanks so much in advance.

To add smoke to the fire, I have experienced a problem rendering a long-form (1.5 hours) production in SVP 12. With my AMD video card enabled, rendering stops (freezes) approximately 51% through the rendering process, using AVC Blu-ray templates respectively for MainConcept and Sony. During the process it approximates the rendering time at about 3.5 hours. I then went back to my old standby, MainConcept M2V creation, which estimated less than 2 hours’ render time but again froze about half way through. So I disabled my video card and ran the MainConcept M2V Blu-ray template once more, and in an hour and forty-six minutes the rendering completed without a hitch! As in the past, this appears to me to be an SVP 12 anomaly, not one with my PC or peripherals!! The question now begs–has SVP 13 addressed any of these issues? Furthermore, who has the scoop on SVP 13? Is it worth the upgrade, or as in the past is it almost ALWAYS worth the upgrade? I look forward to everyones’ input on both the rendering and SVP 13 news!!

As stated, I DID download the iZotope RX Reference Manual and Free Guide: Audio Repair with RX 3 (with samples to follow along); these contain no specifics, but rather generalizations on how to repair audio anomalies–the audio samples repairs suggestions were very vague, IMHO!!
However, iZotope Tech Support did NOT point me to the YouTube videos RX Tips from a Pro: Mike Thornton with 10 Tutorials on RX 2!! Perhaps these may be more specific and hand-holding, at least enough for me to get a basic grip and understanding about what is going on!!
I thank you so much for this insight and hope to check it out before the end of the month!!
