    Perhaps a simplier method:

    1. With the pen tool selected, press
    a. Option to change it to the convert points tool
    b. Control to change it to the selection tool

    2. When you are finished with the process, just let up on the modifier key and you will be back to the pen tool

    Matt:

Thanks for the information on the upgrade. I also own FCP 3, 4, 4.5, Soundtrack, DVD Studio Pro 2, 3 and Motion 1. I called the Apple Store, repeated the details you provided, and they gave me the $499 price and cancelled my $699 FCP Studio Pro 5 upgrade order.

What a great response to a new visitor! You are absolutely correct that the information is here but your response was very professional and will probably make Sacci a regular visitor.

    Thanks for taking the time.

    Jose:

You need the video card with the fastest GPU and most memory that will work in a G4. Although I believe that Radeon will have the latest and greatest for the Mac sometime this year, right now the ‘hot’ card is the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL. Check with Apple about compatibility before you buy anything, however. In addition, the GeForce card’s width blocks access to an adjacent slot so if it will install and work in your machine and you have other cards in slots, you may have to make a sacrifice.

    Jose:

Much of Motion’s workload is the responsibility of the graphic’s card. Consequently, it is a key consideration in any system you select. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot upgrade the graphic’s card on any of the PowerBooks. So, don’t purchase one with the thought that you’ll upgrade: RAM Yes, videocard and processor No.
