Clipwrap should allow you to rewrap those as Quicktime files (I’m assuming you’re on a Mac, since ClipWrap is OSX only). Otherwise, you might consider upgrading to 6.5 which can AMA those.

You’re trying to key out the white? You really don’t want to do that. If it’s something stylistic, like words going behind a person in a sit down interview and soft edges around an Animatte Effect are fine, that might work. I’ve done effects like that before, but if you’re expecting a clean key off of white, I’ll save you the suspense, it’s going to be painful. Any specular light on their forehead will key out, the whites of their eyes, if they’re wearing a button shirt, the buttons will typically reflect light and key out.

The copy and paste feature will respond to your default segment mode in your timeline settings. If your default segment mode is set to overwrite, then when you paste it will overwrite. If you set it to insert, it will insert edit.

The green dot is Avid’s Mix and Match feature. It’s applying a motion effect to make the framerate match, so something might be off about your quicktime. If you open the motion effect editor on the clip in the timeline, you can see how the clip is being modified. This has nothing to do with raster size, since that will be adjusted when you transcode.

I’m assuming your clip is a 16×9 square pixel file. Usually I saw those as 852×480, but in any event you might try running the clip through compressor first to make the clip match. You want your clips to be 720×480 (and make sure you set the clip to anamorphic 16×9 (I believe the pixel aspect ratio should be set to 1.2

I wouldn’t use periods in your folder names. What Job mentioned is most likely the case, it thinks it’s a file extension. I number my folders as well, but I don’t use periods.

If you’re buying it just for the storage, $1000 seems like a lot for less than 2TB of storage when you could more cheaply buy an esata card and an external esata drive (or small raid) for less. Does the the Adrenaline BOB have the DNExcel card? If it does, you can view your footage in HD, but if it doesn’t, the only functionality it will give you over the mojo is SDI.

If you check out CalDigit’s page (https://www.caldigit.com), you can get a CalDigit FASTA-6GU3 card (which will give you both USB3 and ESata 6G) and a 4TB VR2 for $738. Even if you set the VR2 to Raid 1 for safety, you’d have more storage. If you digitize a lot of uncompressed media, you’ll benefit from the media dock, but if you don’t, you might be able to save money buying new.
