Thanks, Tom – your settings corrected the problem.

So it sounds like the SD memory card slot is for adding scene files, etc, and not for capturing video. Durnit! The HPX-170 manual is unclear about this.

    I’ve just figured it out.

I had set up a UCN in Metadata>Property but had not turned Record on at Metadata>Record. When you have a SD formatted disk in the camera, have Type2 switched ON and Record switched ON, the camera allows you to lay down a UCN as the file name followed by a four digit number.

    Thank-you everyone for your input.

Having read the PDF, it appears I need a P2 Viewer to add a User Clip Name.

I’m a Mac user, and I don’t see Mac P2 Viewer at the Panasonic site (https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm).

However, I heard that the HPX-170 allows a user to create a UCN inside the camera.

Any thoughts on either of these?

    Thanks,

    Richard

So is there any way to prename clips prior to shooting?
