    Did you notice any increase in speed when rendering projects? Currently have a iMac G5 and recently it took approx 9hrs to render (thru Compressor) a project that was about 1.5hrs in length.

    Also when trying to use Motion on the iMac it slows down to a crawl. It is for this reason I’m looking at the Quad Core, but want to make sure it will improve the workflow.

    I have uninstalled 7.65 and installed v7.6

    This has rectified the issue and I can now render!!

    Hello again!!

    Thank you all for your input on this issue, actually found out what was causing it. All the media was held on the external drive whilst iDVD was compiling the dvd.
    Moved the media to the MAC h/d and it worked ok. Seems that iDVD likes the media to be held locally instead of elsewhere….
