Great video Dean, thank you! It’s all starting to make sense… slowly…LOL!

Thanks David and Dean for your replies. In most cases I have several SFX tracks and music tracks. What I need to do is make sure all the SFX go to track 2 and all the music goes to tracks 3 and 4. It’s just not clicking in my head on how to accomplish a final video output with all these tracks of audio exported to only 4 total tracks.

I had the same problem on both Mac and PC after updating to PP v14.5. I ended up going back to 14.4 since I tend to use these features quite a bit. I also submitted a bug report on the Adobe site.

That’s good to know Michael, thanks. These are the simple tricks I’m looking forward to learning during our conversion over to Resolve.

Gotcha Dean, I read about setting up audio this way earlier today. I just felt like I might be doing something wrong since they were coming into Resolve combined. You’ve both solved my Resolve head scratcher for today day… there will be more!!!

Thanks for the reply Tom. Studio shoot, channel one lav and channel two boom direct into the camera. This was just a rehearsal, we usually have an audio person on set. No syncing needed for this clip. I’m just testing Resolve before we jump into our next commercial.

So it sounds to me from your reply that Resolve treats these tracks as one track. I’m just used to Premiere treating each recorded signal as it’s own track when imported. Just going to have to get used to it I guess.

Thanks Tom. Since they are separate tracks, why wouldn’t the lav come into Resolve as audio 1 and the boom come in as audio 2? Is it something in my settings that I’m missing?

Thanks Greg. We are a PC based facility but since we are working remotely I’ve been cutting on my Mac home system. I have a killer Puget system at the studio and sometimes remote in to edit but there’s nothing like editing locally. I’ve been looking around at different PC builds and trying to weigh the options of purchasing a new PC or just swapping out my gfx card. No way I can afford or need to buy a new car, I mean a new MacPro!

My 2010 MacPro is maxed out and if I want to stay on my Mac I’d have to do the Radeon upgrade. Can’t even consider the new MacPro’s, I’d rather put that money into a new vehicle…LOL!
I’ve been researching PC’s since they are much more affordable for my budget at this time.

This is a really nice guide. I met Vashi at NAB a few years back, great guy and always willing to share information.
