What if those stills are JPEG’s. I have a similar issue with stills and shot footage, the sequence plays fine until I try adding the sound tracks, then it stutters and jumps, stops, jumps forward, plays and so on. I am hopeful that FCP Studio 2 resolves some of these conflicts, I have been lead to believe it will. Time will tell, many thanks for your info. R.

Tried all of the above, I just now reinstalled FCPStudio 5.1, it opens just fine, however I can’t open my previous project as it is a recent update of FCP and my Airport card is not allowing me to connect to the Internet. One step at a time I guess 🙂 I have run diagnostics and that shows I have the Airport card and that is working fine or so it says. I have a call out to the ONLY service centre in NZ, if worse comes to worse I will take some time off, go fishing and wait until they turn up next week and i will then re-edit my project in a matter of 24 hour days, just like I used to. I have ordered Studio 2 and can’t wait, cheers and thanks for the feedback, R.

I tried starting from an older saved version and the same issue happens. The project I am working with is mainly stills with some HDV and some material from a DVD. I just ran a Diagnosis from the start up disk and at least my hardware is all okay. However, when I reboot the computer my Airport doesn’t show and I can’t open FCP, mmmmm. Maybe I should reinstall FCP but will that allow me to open existing material? Many thanks for your reply, I am out in the boonies/outback/countryside, of new Zealand and getting hands on help is a distinct challenge. Cheers, Richard.

many thanks Bob and Walter, I will keep my hand out of my pocket until 7th August.
Everything you suggested rings loud and clear.
The great thing about this site is how broad the scope, through my post I was re-connected to a Canadian Editor who worked for me in 1972, sheeesh!
Many thanks, I will let you know what i end up with. I already have most of the periphery stuff, now it’s mainly the computer and where to go with storage.
