I tried one last thing, to no avail. Before (since vanilla 10.0.0) I’ve been importing all my files directly from my external HDD. This hasn’t created any problems at all. Not since 10.0.7. So I tried moving the files to my internal HDD, and still got the error message:

“The following clip encountered an error during import and is still referencing media on the camera:”

Even though it’s not on a camera. I have no idea what the crap is going on. I’ll reply with a link to a smaller file once it’s been uploaded.

Also, I was wrong about the DSLR files using an h264 codec. They are .MOV files using a MPEG4 codec.

I’ll try a smaller file, and assuming it fails, upload it for use. It’s a .mov with an h264 codec, I think. It was shot on a DSLR. I just stepped out, but when I get back I’ll upload the file. Thanks.

It just says, “There was an error importing the files.”

There’s not an error code or anything to reference. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program to see of that would fix it. No luck.

Yeah, it’s all stuff that I made after 10.0.7. All the files play just fine in QuickTime. This is getting so frustrating.

Well, they just came out with a revision to the iMacs in mid 2011, so I can’t imagine that they are in too big of a hurry to update again, considering that it’s not their line of computers that people are gobbling up right now (mostly their portable line, of course). I’m running off an identical system as the one you described, and I can’t see any reason to avoid upgrading at the moment. This thing is a monster.

Of course, the iMacs only go up to 16GB of RAM at the moment. Just thought you should be aware of that before you buy any additional RAM that you don’t need.

I didn’t have any background tasks rendering, and I still couldn’t get it using the Double-Click option. The only one that worked for me was Jonathan Dortch’s suggestion. Tapping Enter does seem to bring up an editable field. Thanks for the tip.

Hmm, the only thing I can think is perhaps delete the file from your Event and Project libraries, then add the file back in. Maybe something get messed up when it get optimized the first time. But if it’s just a one frame audio dropout, can it even be that noticeable?

Define “small glitch”. Like, does the audio cut out, make a popping sound, something else? If you watch the raw footage of the feed with the sound-board audio, does make the same glitches in the same spots?

Yeah, I actually figured it out by accident by hitting one of those buttons. I had messed with them before, but didn’t get the desired result so I thought they were for something else. Thanks for the info.

November 22, 2011 at 5:55 pm in reply to: Good DVD burning software for Mac OSX

Thanks for that info. Unfortunately I don’t need the whole Studio package, just DVD Studio Pro.

And @Gary, right now I’m still using Sony’s DVD Architect. I’m just sending all my rendered files over to my network drive and mastering the disc on my Windows PC. I want to sell my Windows PC though, so I’m looking to fully do away with that computer entirely, thus the need for the software.

And by “hobbyist” I mean just lacking the ability to tweak my settings, optimizing disc space, framerates, etc. The most common software I found that can run on Macs is some form of Nero, and I freaking hate Nero.

    Thanks.
