Hello every one!! 🙂
I had the same problem, I digged over the whole internet to find a solution but none of them was working for me.
A friend send me a file and when I was trying to open it I get the same error.
One of the solutions given in the forums was to open the project with notepad++ and to replace the wrong/missing codec with existing one. I noticed that this wasn’t the problem because I had the codecs used in the file. I search the codecs on my computer and noticed that they are in different folder from the one listed in the my friend’s file. For example my folder was 678af98-… and so on and the folder listed in the file was different, so I only replaced the folder and the files OPENSS! I was soo happy! 🙂
You should check very carefully that the path of the codecs is correct and is following to the exact folder with the codecs on your machine. What was more in the file that i was trying to open was many video files, that couldn’t be loaded, because the path in the file ( again viewed with notepad) was the old one ( the one of my friend that make and sent me the file), so I changed it to my directory and everything was fine! Check all the folders and replace with yours. Hope this will help to anyone and saves him hours ( that I lost in searching)! 🙂
