Can you explain the work flow? I have two 900’s and two GPS modules.
I just haven’t been able to get the GPS info out of a deck.
Which deck are you using? Where does the Meta data appear?

I have the front end, meaning the camera. I just haven’t figured out the decode end, meaning the deck and display.

The HD decks that I have are the old 130DC, 1200A and 1400.

I have found a product that turns GPS info into an audio signal and then back to GPS.
We have used it to record HD video on any camera by putting GPS information on one of the audio tracks. Leaving a second audio track for a microphone. Here we use a hard wired mic and put the mic into one of the ear muffs. That way it records all of the conversation that happens in the helicopter. Great for a slate.

The GPS, now in audio format, is married to the HD video. The same unit can decode the audio back into a 9pin serial that talks to a laptop.
When we play back the videotape, we use the “Street Atlas” program to show where we got the footage and display GPS information.

When we bought the encoder/decoder it was only $400.

I have had the same experience of running video down audio cables and audio down video cables.
The challenge is with proper shielding and cross talk.
It took me a while to figure that audio was getting into the video signal. Everytime there was audio, the video got a little noisy. Stop the audio and it went away.

We had an HDX900 and the filter wheel knob would turn but the filters would not change.
We sent it into Panasonic in Burbank and it was repaired under warranty.

I don’t ownn any IDX batteries. I did just go on the Internet and saw that they were running 14.2 volts for some of them.

I believe that the battery setting on the camera is to show you when you have a low battery. You should be able to see if your batteries are running 14.2, 14.4 or above.
Typically the cameras like to run at 12 volts. The original PB90 batteries were rated at 12 volts but when they were “loaded” the voltage dropped below 12 volts. That is why AB and others run at 14.4 so when loaded down with lights and camera, the battery is still well above 12 volts.

Are you running any directional antennas? They can be ganged together and as along as they are within freq ranges, and they can use the same antenna and distribution.
