  • I have a similar problem (the same as Mark), I recently did a clean install of my system and deleted my Previous Systems folder. I was looking to extract and convert DVD info to QuickTime with the Mpeg-2 Component using the MPEG stream clip and I got the same message as Mark. I already checked in/Library/QuickTime and I have the QuickTimeMPEG2.component version 6.3 and in the system/library/quicktime I have theQuickTimeMPEG2.component 7.6. I deleted the MPEG 2 component 6.3 and reinstall the MPEG2 7.6 from the QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg, and the Installer says “successfully installed” but there’s no sign of the QuickTimeMPEG2.component file in the /Library/QuickTime . And still no ability to play MPEG-2.

So I don’t know what to do

My system is 10.4.11 and I have the Quicktime pro 7.6.4, and final cut pro HD 5
