December 30, 2009 at 5:47 pm in reply to: How to get the basic matte look using Ambient Occlusion ??Hi Adam,
I had to create a Material, and then add Texture> Ambient Occlusion , to get the look. Yes the sky needed to be created too.
Thanks,

Hi Brian,
Thanks a lot. I opened the content browser and found a host of presets for thinking particles. But when I drag them onto my Object workspace, they are empty. Do I have to create or add my own particle data to the preset ?
Thanks

Hi Dan.
I tried the XML import/ export thing, but it still couldn’t connect the clips from my project in the USB hard disk to the same exported project (via XML) in my internal hard disks.
I tried both the options, i.e select master clips outside selection etc…But still the XML searches for the clips in the USB, instead of connecting to the ones in the internal HDD.
My only option now is to copy the entire project from the USB to the internal HDD.
Is there any other option ?
Thanks.

hi Todd,
I have uploaded 2 photos, one is DV Pal Letterboxed
https://www.flickr.com/photos/31464191@N07/
and the other is DV PAL ANAMORPHIC…which is looking squished and elongated. Will it play as 16/9 on a true 16/9 monitor or a HDTV ?
Please suggest…

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestions. All my tapes are standard DV. All of them are 720/ 576 PAL.
1. The footage that was shot on PD 170 is 4:3 native.
2. Footage shot on Sony Z1P is 16:9 native.
3. Both are DV CAM
So I just have to change my 4:3 image mainly…either to 16:9 or letterboxed 16:9 The broadcast requirement is on Digi Beta.
I found this article really helpful.

Hi,
But won’t that reference QT file give a lower quality output ?

Walter and Neil,
Thanks for your suggestion, but that still doesn’t solve my problem why the 16bit audio syncs and the 24bit doesn’t !! Very strange…
Another thing, when I give print to tape for a 2 hour DV PAL sequence…it shows out of memory while rendering…although I have tons of Gbs free in all my drives…
Any suggestions ?

Hi neil,
1. The film was shot on JVC HDV at24fps…and its at 23.98fps on the timeline…
2. The DAT sound was recorded at 24fps.
3. The audio was mixed on this DAW/software called SOUNDSCAPE.
4.The 16bit is working fine, but not the 24bit. Although the waveforms are identical on the timeline..the 24bit is still going outsync.
5. The audio was .wav on a dvd from SOUNDSCAPE, I have copied the audio on the mac.
Any Suggestions ?
Rajarshi
